ORLANDO, Fla. – Hatcher Insurance Group, a full-service insurance brokerage and Unison Risk Advisors™ partner, today announces its acquisition of Winter Park-based Level 3 Benefit Advisors, expanding the company’s employee benefits consulting capabilities across Florida.
Founded in 2021, Level 3 Benefit Advisors specializes in employee benefits consulting and strategic advisory services for employers seeking to optimize healthcare and benefits programs. The acquisition adds five new team members to Hatcher, with Level 3 Founder Tom McGaffic joining the firm to lead and expand the company’s employee benefits practice while extending Unison’s expertise across clients and internal teams.
In his new role, McGaffic will oversee Hatcher’s existing benefits team while driving future growth through new producer hires, team lift-outs, and additional company acquisitions.
“We have known Tom and his team through the industry for years and have always had tremendous respect for his reputation and client-first approach,” said William J. Palmer, Principal of Hatcher. “Combining forces will create incredible value for our clients, team members, and future partners while strengthening our employee benefits capabilities.”
“From early on we followed each other’s progress in the marketplace and looked for opportunities to partner,” said McGaffic. “When the timing was right, it became clear there wasn’t another team we would rather build with.”
To support its continued expansion, Hatcher is also relocating its headquarters from College Park to a new Dr. Phillips Charities building in the Packing District. The new 10,000 square foot office will feature multi-purpose training and event rooms and will support the company’s planned growth to more than 60 full-time employees in 2026.
“As we looked toward the future, we wanted a headquarters that reflected where our company is headed,” said Bryan Robertson, Principal of Hatcher. “The Packing District is quickly becoming one of Orlando’s most dynamic business communities and the new space gives us the room and resources to continue building our team and better serve our clients for years to come.”
“This partnership positions us to grow our benefits platform across Florida while continuing to deliver thoughtful, strategic guidance to employers navigating an increasingly complex benefits landscape,” said Cory Broadaway, Principal of Hatcher.
The company has experienced strong momentum over the past year, growing to 42 employees, a nearly 24% increase, since acquiring Jamerson-McLean in January 2025.
