Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has expanded its wholesale insurance operations with the acquisition of Med James, Inc., a managing general agency (MGA) and wholesale insurance broker headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition strengthens Gallagher’s U.S. wholesale brokerage, binding authority, and programs business through its Risk Placement Services, Inc. (RPS) division. Med James is known for providing specialized wholesale insurance solutions and MGA services to retail insurance agents.
As part of the transaction, Pam Donahue and the entire Med James team will remain with the organization and continue operating from their current location. They will report to Jacey Norberg, Vice President of RPS’s North Central Region, helping ensure continuity for clients and business partners.
Gallagher Chairman and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. said the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of strengthening its wholesale brokerage platform through experienced teams with established market expertise.
He noted that Med James has earned a strong reputation within the wholesale insurance sector and said the addition of the company enhances RPS’s capabilities across the region. Gallagher also welcomed the Med James team to the organization’s expanding global network of insurance professionals.
