Mile Auto, an artificial intelligence-powered managing general agent (MGA) specializing in pay-per-mile auto insurance, has acquired The Insurance House, Inc., creating one of the Southeast’s largest technology-enabled auto insurance platforms. The transaction became effective on July 1, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The combined organization generates nearly $100 million in annual premium, serves more than 55,000 policyholders, and partners with approximately 1,600 independent insurance agencies across 10 states.
The acquisition brings together two complementary businesses. Mile Auto contributes its patented artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies, which support privacy-focused, mileage-based auto insurance products. The Insurance House adds decades of MGA expertise, established carrier relationships, and a broad network of independent agency partners throughout the Southeast.
Company executives said the combination creates a stronger platform capable of delivering innovative insurance products while expanding distribution opportunities for independent agents. By combining advanced technology with traditional underwriting expertise, the merged organization aims to accelerate product development and improve the overall customer and agent experience.
The Insurance House will continue operating under its well-established brand, allowing agency partners and policyholders to maintain the relationships they have built over the years while benefiting from Mile Auto’s technology and expanded capabilities.
The acquisition reflects a broader trend in the insurance industry, where technology-driven MGAs are partnering with established wholesale organizations to expand market reach, strengthen distribution networks, and deliver more efficient insurance solutions. With its enhanced scale and capabilities, the combined company is positioned to broaden its presence throughout the Southeast and continue investing in AI-powered insurance products for independent agencies and their clients.
