NFP, an Aon company and a leading property and casualty insurance broker and benefits consultant, has expanded its presence in Northeast Ohio with the acquisition of Total Benefits Advisors, a Cleveland-based advisory firm specializing in employee benefits, retirement services, and wealth management. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009, Total Benefits Advisors provides integrated retirement planning, employee benefits consulting, and wealth management services for business owners, employers, and high-net-worth individuals. The firm has built its reputation on delivering personalized financial guidance and long-term client relationships throughout the greater Cleveland area.
As part of the acquisition, Mark Breen, advisor and owner of Total Benefits Advisors, will join NFP as a vice president. He will report to Steve Jans, NFP’s National Practice Leader for Wealth Management, helping strengthen the company’s retirement and employee benefits offerings in the region.
Steve Jans said the acquisition supports NFP’s strategy of partnering with respected regional firms that complement its national capabilities. He noted that Total Benefits Advisors has earned a strong reputation for delivering integrated benefits and wealth management solutions and said the combination will allow NFP to provide even greater value to clients in the Cleveland market.
Breen said joining NFP enables the firm to maintain the personalized service clients have come to expect while gaining access to a broader range of specialized expertise, technology, and national resources. He added that the two organizations share a similar client-first culture, making the partnership a natural fit.
The acquisition continues NFP’s steady expansion strategy, strengthening its employee benefits, retirement advisory, and wealth management capabilities through partnerships with established firms across the United States. The company, now part of Aon, continues to invest in regional expertise while expanding the resources available to clients and advisors nationwide.
