Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has expanded its wholesale insurance operations with the acquisition of W.N. Tuscano Agency, Inc., a managing general agency and wholesale brokerage based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
The transaction was completed through Risk Placement Services, Inc. (RPS), Gallagher’s U.S. wholesale brokerage, binding authority and programs division. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
W.N. Tuscano Agency provides wholesale insurance solutions to independent insurance agents throughout western Pennsylvania. As both an MGA and wholesale broker, the agency helps retail agents access specialized insurance markets and place coverage for risks that may be difficult to secure through standard carriers.
The Tuscano team will continue operating from its existing location in Greensburg. Robin Tuscano and the agency’s employees will become part of RPS under the leadership of Steve Levin, who oversees the company’s Northeast region.
Gallagher Chairman and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. said the acquisition strengthens the company’s market expertise while expanding its wholesale capabilities in Pennsylvania. He also welcomed Robin Tuscano and the agency’s employees to Gallagher’s global organization.
The deal provides RPS with an established team that has developed strong relationships with independent agents in the region. By combining Tuscano’s local knowledge and wholesale experience with RPS’s broader carrier relationships, specialty resources and national platform, the acquisition is expected to create additional placement opportunities for the agencies the companies serve.
For W.N. Tuscano Agency, joining RPS offers access to the resources of one of the country’s largest wholesale insurance organizations while allowing the team to maintain its established presence in western Pennsylvania.
