Beagle, a subsidiary of Corgi, has expanded its insurance offerings for rental property owners, commercial property managers and community associations as rising premiums and tighter underwriting create additional challenges in the property insurance market.
The expanded platform brings together short- and long-term rental insurance, commercial tenant insurance compliance and coverage for homeowners associations, condominium associations, co-operatives and certain commercial risks.
According to Beagle, millions of dollars in premium have already been underwritten through existing partners across these product lines. The company is now making the programs more broadly available.
For rental property owners, Beagle offers coverage options for buildings, owner-provided contents, liability and lost rental income following a covered loss, subject to policy terms and underwriting.
Beagle is also expanding into commercial real estate with a lease-embedded general liability program. Eligible commercial tenants that do not have compliant insurance can enroll under a policy held by the property manager, with individual limits for participating tenants. Property managers and owners are included as additional insureds, while tenants pay monthly through their tenant ledger.
For community associations, Beagle offers an Association Master Policy designed for risks involving shared property such as roofs, structures, amenities, sports courts and other common areas.
Available HOA coverage options include general liability limits of $1 million or $2 million per occurrence, excess or umbrella coverage ranging from $1 million to $5 million, and directors and officers coverage upon request. Property, inland marine and accident coverage may also be available depending on the risk and policy selected.
Robert Barlow, executive vice president of Partnerships at Corgi, said the expansion is intended to address insurance challenges property managers and community boards regularly face, including property damage, interrupted rental income and losses involving shared community assets.
Product availability varies by state and individual risk. Coverage is subject to underwriting requirements and applicable policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.
