Oneglobal Broking has acquired the digital asset client portfolio of Hong Kong-based specialist insurance broker Fraction Brokers Asia Ltd., expanding its capabilities in the growing digital asset insurance market.
The acquired portfolio has been transferred to Oneglobal’s licensed Hong Kong entity. The transaction is intended to strengthen the international insurance and reinsurance broker’s digital asset capabilities in Asia, a market the company believes remains underserved.
Fraction Brokers was incorporated in 2012 and operates globally, with a particular presence in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets. The firm adopted the Fraction Brokers name in August 2025 as it developed its digital asset insurance business.
According to the company, Fraction Brokers places a specie insurance program valued at more than $1 billion, with the current portfolio totaling approximately $1.175 billion.
Alongside the acquisition, Oneglobal has established a dedicated Digital Asset division. Dan Dibden has been appointed chief commercial officer, Digital Assets, Hong Kong, while Onno Sterk will serve as head of Digital Assets.
Oneglobal already provides some digital asset insurance solutions outside Asia. The acquisition adds specialized expertise in Hong Kong while giving Fraction Brokers’ clients access to Oneglobal’s broader international platform.
Roger Spicer, group CEO of Oneglobal Broking, said the acquisition expands the company’s capabilities in an emerging insurance segment as digital assets become a larger part of the financial services industry. He described the addition of Fraction Brokers’ expertise as an important part of Oneglobal’s global growth strategy.
Dibden said clients across a growing number of industries are likely to encounter digital asset exposures, including through stablecoins. He said the acquisition gives Oneglobal clients access to additional experience in identifying and managing those risks.
The expansion also comes as Hong Kong continues developing its regulatory framework for virtual assets. Digital asset insurance is overseen under the Hong Kong Insurance Authority’s general insurance framework, while virtual asset service providers are regulated by the Securities and Futures Commission.
Oneglobal said the combination of Hong Kong’s developing digital asset market and its own international reach creates opportunities to expand specialized insurance solutions for businesses with digital asset exposures.
