Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Albany Insurance Services Limited, a New Zealand-based retail insurance brokerage serving commercial and personal lines clients.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Albany Insurance serves clients primarily across New Zealand’s Auckland and Canterbury regions. The acquisition expands Gallagher’s retail brokerage operations in the country.
The Albany Insurance team, led by Jeremy Bleakley, will join Gallagher and continue operating under the direction of Carl O’Shea, who leads Gallagher’s New Zealand retail brokerage business.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., said Albany Insurance’s knowledge of the local insurance market and its focus on client service will complement Gallagher’s existing operations in New Zealand.
Gallagher also welcomed Bleakley and the Albany Insurance team to the organization.
The acquisition adds another retail brokerage to Gallagher’s international operations and expands its commercial and personal insurance capabilities in the New Zealand market.
