Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Winter & Co Solicitors LLP, a London-based maritime law firm, through its claims and risk management subsidiary, Gallagher Bassett.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Winter & Co specializes in shipping-related legal matters and serves protection and indemnity (P&I) clubs, marine insurers, shipowners and charterers. The acquisition adds maritime legal expertise to Gallagher Bassett’s existing marine claims and risk management operations.
Glenn Winter and his team will remain at their current London location following the acquisition. They will operate under the direction of Manan Sagar, who leads Gallagher Bassett’s operations across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., said Winter & Co will strengthen Gallagher Bassett’s growing marine specialty platform by adding legal capabilities that complement its existing claims and risk management services.
