Equal Parts has acquired ProSource Insurance Agency, a Plano, Texas-based brokerage specializing in transportation insurance. The transaction was completed during the first quarter of 2026.
The acquisition expands Equal Parts’ transportation insurance capabilities and strengthens its presence in Texas, a major U.S. freight market.
Founded in 2003 by President Paul Nhem, ProSource serves trucking companies, owner-operators, commercial fleets and other transportation businesses in Texas and across the country.
Nhem has worked in the insurance industry since 1990. Before establishing ProSource, he held positions with State Farm, The Hartford, Fireman’s Fund and CNA Insurance.
Mike Witte, co-founder and CEO of Equal Parts, said transportation insurance requires specialized industry knowledge and experience. He said Equal Parts will provide ProSource with technology, operational support, additional market access and capital to support the agency’s continued growth.
ProSource will continue operating under Nhem’s leadership following the acquisition. The agency will also gain access to Equal Parts’ proprietary technology, centralized operations, carrier relationships, shared services and acquisition resources.
Mike Meller, co-founder and chief operating officer of Equal Parts, said ProSource’s combination of technical insurance expertise and established client relationships fits the type of independent agency Equal Parts looks for when pursuing partnerships.
Equal Parts focuses on partnering with founder-led independent insurance agencies while preserving their existing leadership, brands, local relationships and areas of specialization.
The addition of ProSource expands the company’s network of specialized agencies while adding further expertise in the commercial transportation insurance market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
