The Mississippi Insurance Department (MID) has revoked the licenses of 21 insurance agents accused of providing false or misleading information to obtain or maintain their resident insurance producer licenses.
The revocations followed administrative hearings scheduled for October 15, 2026, which none of the 21 agents attended.
According to MID, the agents were accused of obtaining or maintaining their Mississippi resident producer licenses through material misrepresentation or false pretenses, in violation of state insurance laws.
Mississippi Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney said the department’s investigative division uncovered the alleged misrepresentations during its review of the agents’ licensing information.
Chaney stated that the agents had provided false information on their license applications. Because none appeared at the scheduled hearings to contest the allegations, their licenses were revoked immediately.
The latest enforcement actions follow a similar investigation in July 2026, when MID brought charges against 59 insurance agents for alleged licensing violations.
Under Mississippi Code Section 83-17-83, the affected agents have the right to appeal the department’s decisions.
The revocations are part of MID’s efforts to enforce insurance producer licensing requirements and ensure that agents provide accurate information when applying for or maintaining their licenses.
