Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Aviza Insurance Agency, an independent agency specializing in farm, agribusiness, commercial and personal insurance.
The acquisition expands Inszone’s operations in Michigan and adds an agency with more than six decades of experience serving clients in Coldwater and the surrounding Tri-State area.
Founded in 1966, Aviza Insurance Agency provides both personal and commercial insurance, with particular expertise in farm and agribusiness risks. The agency also offers commercial, home, auto and health insurance.
Current owner Jake Eby has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience and took ownership of the agency in 2016 from founder Dave Aviza. Eby has developed a significant portion of the agency’s book around farm and commercial accounts.
According to Inszone, Eby began considering a sale as the insurance market changed and the responsibilities associated with agency ownership increased. Finding a long-term perpetuation solution for the agency while protecting existing clients was an important part of the decision.
Eby said his early conversations with Inszone gave him confidence that he could continue serving clients while also having a long-term plan in place for them when he eventually steps away from the business.
Following the acquisition, Aviza clients will gain access to Inszone’s broader insurance markets, technology and back-office resources. The Aviza team will also begin integrating into Inszone’s systems and processes.
Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services, said Aviza’s long history and specialized experience in farm and agribusiness insurance made the agency an attractive addition to the company.
Walters also said Inszone intends to support Aviza’s employees and maintain the level of service that has helped the agency build longstanding relationships within its community.
