Smart Choice, a network of independent insurance agents, has been named an Inc. Power Partner award winner for the fifth consecutive year.
The annual recognition from Inc. Magazine honors business-to-business companies that have demonstrated a track record of helping entrepreneurs and businesses grow.
Smart Choice has received the award every year since the program began five years ago. The company provides independent insurance agencies with carrier access, business resources and support to help them establish and expand their operations.
One example highlighted by Smart Choice is Kavan Maybee, owner of Kavan Maybee Insurance Agency Inc., who joined the network after spending more than a decade as a captive Farmers insurance agent.
Maybee said he decided to become independent to better serve his clients but needed access to insurance carriers and additional support to establish his agency.
After joining Smart Choice, Maybee worked toward achieving the network’s Leadership Agent status, which allows qualifying agents to retain 100% of their commissions without an ongoing commission split.
According to Maybee, reaching that milestone has allowed his agency to reinvest additional commission revenue into business growth.
Dan Bruck, chief marketing officer at Smart Choice, said the network’s approach focuses on helping agents grow while maintaining their independence and ownership of their businesses.
Bruck emphasized that Smart Choice does not require lengthy contracts or charge entry and exit fees. He also highlighted the company’s local field sales team, which provides support to participating agencies.
The fifth consecutive Inc. Power Partner recognition highlights Smart Choice’s continued focus on providing independent insurance agents with carrier relationships, business support and opportunities for agency growth.
