The deal adds a century-old, family-owned personal lines agency to Inszone’s growing national platform.
Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Harris Insurance Services, expanding the brokerage’s personal lines presence in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, market.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Harris Insurance Services traces its history to 1925, when Charles R. Harris founded the agency. The business was later incorporated in the 1970s as Charles G. Harris Insurance Agency Inc. and has remained under Harris family leadership for three generations.
Based in West Tulsa, the agency focuses on personal lines products, including homeowners, automobile, umbrella, motorcycle, recreational vehicle and boat insurance.
According to the acquisition announcement, retirement planning prompted Harris Insurance Services’ leadership to look for a partner that could continue serving its clients while preserving the agency’s longstanding relationships.
“As I started thinking about retirement, I wanted to be sure I was leaving my clients in good hands,” Ross Harris of Harris Insurance Services said in the announcement. Harris added that he contacted several other agencies that had worked with Inszone and received positive feedback about their experiences.
Following the acquisition, Harris Insurance Services clients will have access to Inszone’s expanded insurance markets, technology and back-office resources. The Harris team will also begin integrating into Inszone’s systems and operating processes.
Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services, said the acquisition brings a family-owned agency with deep personal lines experience and nearly a century of history to the organization. He said Inszone intends to continue the level of client service that the Harris family established over three generations.
