The Independent Insurance Agents’ Association of Montana (IIAM) was originally established in 1932 as the Montana Association of Insurance Agents, with the express purpose of uniting agents in the insurance business to lobby and protect members from adverse legislation. IIAM was organized to promote and encourage professional development through communications and education among local insurance agents. IIAM encourages professional risk management and professional insurance services to the public and supports principles and practices which best serve the public interest. IIAM is a member driven association. It is the largest Montana insurance producer association, serving 112 agency members and their satellites. All personnel within these agencies are members of the association. This makes the number of members in IIAM about 800 people.
